The Results are in!

If you haven’t been following this experiment on social media over the past few months, here’s a quick recap of what I’ve been up to.

Whenever I have customers visit us at the shop looking for nutrients, more often than not I get asked the same question: Which brand is better? and could never answer as I have never put the side by side and test them out. Long story short… eventually I did and documented it on Discord and Social Media.

Experiment Details

Experiment: Advanced Nutrients (Grandmaster lineup) vs. Biobizz (complete lineup)
Strain: Dos Si Dos Feminised by Barney’s Farm
Soil: Canna Pro (EC1)
Grow: Space: 1m x 1m
Light: 300W Lumatek

Method

I started out the 2 plants in smaller pots using lightly fertilised soil. During the seedling stage I gave Microbes & Root Juice from Biobizz, and the Root Expanders from Advanced Nutrients; Voodoo Juice, Piranha & Tarantula.

At the early transplanting stage, the Biobizz root system was much better developed.

This is their final resting place and from here on out, after finishing the food in the soil, I switch to flowering using a 12/12 schedule and start using the full nutrient line up.

Worth noting is that since I used soil for this experiment, the recommended dose for Advanced Nutrients base nutrients Grow, Micro, Bloom was set at 50%.

The Results

Before we jump into this I would just like to point out that I’m not by any means a professional grower and this experiment should be taken with a pinch of salt. It’s in no way scientific purely to learn for myself whilst and documenting it because sharing is caring.

Biobizz

Since the start, Biobizz was considered the underdog by many of our followers. And rightly so, the range has less nutrients, the complete bundle will cost you less, and since it is organic, it is always going to be slightly associated with having smaller yields.
Having said that, there are other reasons and not only yield that we need to take into account. Taste, smell, look & ultimately the type of high you get.

Biobizz did eventually produce less on the scales however the buds had more weight to them. In fact, these buds keep jamming up my grinder they’re so dense and oily.

Advanced Nutrients

At the end, this brand produced 15% more weight on the scales, had stunning purple flowers and looked packed with Trichomes. I guess that’s what you pay the extra money for.

The taste was slightly harsh in the beginning and but become smoother as the curing continued. After speaking with Advanced Nutrients directly, they suggested to do a 2nd flushing solution of Flawless finish for a deeper clean. Big tip for anyone using the Grandmaster lineup.

My Thoughts

I have to say that both brands surpassed my expectations on terms of quality and yield. I must admit I felt the pressure of documenting these 2 brands (without F*$king it up) but it turned out pretty well in the end.

I hope you found this journey interesting and be sure you stay tuned for the next! We’ll be testing out some new products 😎
